Birth Stories

In the past women have always shared their birth stories. It was a celebration of the birth to talk about it amongst female friends and family and not only that but as a learning tool for future generations. There is a disturbing culture in New Zealand to avoid talking about birth in this way. We at the MSCC believe that we can learn from birth stories and use them to grow and develop our maternity system.

We have included some wonderful birth stories below; both inspirational and also those where there are lessons to be learnt. If you would like to share yours then please email us at mscc@maternity.org.nz
